I would like to know if anyone has had expereiences with both rhino and line-x. Which is a better product? Are they so similar that it doesn't make any difference? Is it the application and or applicator that makes the difference? If so, any one know a reputable shop in the up-sate NY area?

I've had both. Line-X is much tougher. Rhino is softer and more sound deadening. If you don't like stuff sliding around in the bed of a truck as easily, Rhino's better. If you want tougher'n hell, Line-X is the choice.

Also, rhino is thicker... it's a softer urethane (you can literally dig your fingernail into it) whereas line-x is more of a polypropelene material, harder and thinner.

we have a utility trailer sprayed with line-x in the red color, and 3-4 years later its totally orange and looks like hell

So is it the red color only or is the black starting to fade with time also? I could see fading if you were in AZ. but in WA? Does the rhino stuff come off or is it just a softer compound. I could live with either if they perform the same but if one fails that would suck. I am thinking of having more than just the grill done so I don't want it flaking off as I am tooling down the highway!

Rhino can get digs in it. It's tougher'n hell to get off. The Line-X is super tough, it'll pull the paint off with it if the surface were properly prepared.
Our local Line-X guys said black was the only way to go, the colors would fade. He told me this up front. Even the black goes gray after awhile but the bumper trim treatment stuff brings it right back to new looking.

yeah its red only... my dad has a black bed in his '00 f350 and its still nice and black...

after getting mine line-xed , they sold me a bottle of gloss enhancer they said when it dulls to treat with it . 4 months now no fading

Iv'e used the black "stain" you can buy for plastic parts on my jeep, it works pretty well but needs reaplication after about six months. Anyone use this on the plastic of the H3?
