Better Fender Flares
Anyone have any recommendation for good aftermarket flares?
I would either like white, or the same black look as the factory ones. Frankly I like the ones that came on the truck, but with my new tires and wheels, I cannot keep the side of the truck clean, cuz the stock flares just aren't large enough...
Thanks!

Actually they're an inch wider than stock at what amounts to a 2" flare...a far cry from the width of the E&G's though but there's no drilling required.

Re: Better Fender Flares
I have the quantum flares. Very nice, but not wide enough to keep the sides clean. Even though they are wider than stock, they lack in the areas that count when wanting the side to stay clean.

BTW, nice rig Ken
I have been wanting to add a CB and was thinking of mounting the antenna to the spare tire carrier. Do you have yours where it can fold down?
Is that a High-Lift back there? If so, I would like to see how you have it monuted up.

Re: Better Fender Flares
matt, e&g's are the only way to go....they stop the crap from flying....the fitment is good.....just have to take your time and align each section right....when drilling, make sure your on the money.....the screws are stainless and can be polished like chrome, which i think looks good on side of truck.......if you run into a screw that seems tight going in , go back with drill and give it a little ream to open it up a c-note....the screw heads are one way and can be bunged up so take your time... when done post pics and thank me...you;ll love em.........soft

Re: Better Fender Flares
Hey all.. I appreciate the info for the E&G, personally IMO those will not work for me. 1 because I do not want to drill into my truck, but more importantly, I really do not like the holes on the exterior of the flares.
Does anyone know FOR SURE if those quantum ones are any larger than factory, and is the black finish on them like the factory ones, or is it a smooth painted black?
I just really have a "city" H2, and I want to keep it looking real clean.. those E&G flares look a little more towards the "mudder" side of things...
Thanks

Re: Better Fender Flares
The Quantum flares also have an agressive offroad look to them. They are wider than OEM and is the reason I bought them. However, the design still allows crap to sling up on the side.
The finish is smooth and not textured like OEM flares. I have their complete flares. The paint matches perfectly. If you purchase the pieces below the door, they will have notches in them for their steps! However, if you decide to use your stock ones, you will need to have them sanded smooth to match and then painted.
I think you need to find some other brand for what you are wanting. There is another brand out there that is what you are looking for, I just can't remember the name.

Re: Better Fender Flares
Quantum's are definitely wider than stock...by an inch but they will still allow some crap to be thrown up on the sides of the doors as mentioned (although I've got 35-12.50 Mud Grappler's so they stick out a bit). Paint and fit is excellent and I would highly recommend them...they even called me a week after they were delivered to see if I was happy with them and if I had any questions.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think it has that same amount of increase everywhere, right? It seems like my QPPs are skinny where it counts the most - down at the bottom behind the front tires.

Re: Better Fender Flares
Wow. Ya those flares do seem to be much larger.... I do realize that they aren't going to be perfect... but with as much of a blinger as I am... I just want to do my best to help in keeping the car as clean as possible. Anything would be better than the stock ones right now!

Re: Better Fender Flares
Actually, the ones QPP sells on their site are wider than the ones on your limited edition. The ones you have are close to stock width.

Re: Better Fender Flares
I don't think so mine are almost 3/4" wider than the stock ones. I've check it out myself. But you are right the Qpp's look to be 1.25" wider.
