Went to the local Hummer event in Albuquerque this past Sunday and noticed that one of the H2 owners had invested in a novel approach to addressing deep scratches. Unfortunatley, he had been keyed into the paint and was looking for another alternative to either selling or repainting. He decided on having the entire side door/body panels (stopping just shy of the windows and above the door handles) of his H2 coated with the same spray-on coating you apply to pickup truck beds (that tough black stuff). I must admit that it looked rather good (Pewter H2) and certainly would perform well as an abrasion/scratch resistant coating. Might be an alternative for those who want to cover up deep scratches. Sorry, didn't get the cost numbers but I could find out if folks are interested.

Tell me about the NM event. I live in NM and will be completing the purchase of an 2004 this week and would like to know what kind of events Pitre puts on.

There are a few trucks here in Idaho that have the whole truck covered with the stuff. At a race we were at a few weeks ago one of the trucks was a big Bronco or Blazer with multicolors (Black and Yellow) and the "LINE-X" logo embossed on the doors. Something to remember is that the stuff is usually thick (but can be sprayed on thinner) and can add more weight. It also isn't the easiest stuff to clean.
You can never have enough horsepower! Yellow LUX, Airforce intake, stainless headers and exhaust, Gobi rack and ladder, roof mounted off road lights, full wrap brush guard, rear light guards, outside tire carrier, Rancho 4" suspension lift, Ultra "EN4CER" 17x9 wheels, Goodyear 37/12.50R17 MT/R tires, removed side-step bars, 9.5ti warn multi-mount winch.
