Re: 16.5" H1 wheel recenters
im running 37' goodyear MT on 16.5 wheels with 4.5 backspacing. whatcha wanna know?
the pros of this setup are the tires are CHEAP! and its got a descent tread. so far i like em, but they do tend to dig, which isnt the best on sand. also the sidewall tread is non-existent, but that hasnt been an issue ...yet.
the cons of this setup is the 16.5 wheel. a 16.5 wheel does not have a safety lip like a 15 or 17 inch wheel would have.
iv been reading up this week into beadlocks and recentered hummer wheels seem the best bang for the buck. im still researching but from what i gather
a beadlocked 16.5 is the same diffrence as a 17 wheel with a safety lip. both help you air down but if you still can lose a bead if you push it to far.
you may find this site interesting
http://www.trailworthyfab.com/Custom...w-Tire-Combos/
you can get a 16.5 beadlock for cheap but if you want a double beadlock he sells pvc inserts which pinches the inner tire aswell. if you get the pvc insert tho, your talking a pretty penny to air down.

Re: 16.5" H1 wheel recenters
I saw that. I can get the tires here in GA for about 350 for 4 with 90% tread. It seems like the wheels would be a little cheaper that they sell them for. I am mostly cusious to find someone running those wheels on their H2. Are you going to get some?

Re: 16.5" H1 wheel recenters
For $1500 for 5, I could buy 5 37 12.5 17s. I dont do any offorading where I would air down. She's not pavement princess, but she is close.

Re: 16.5" H1 wheel recenters
im running these:
http://wartires.com/goodyears.html
best and cheap and they sell wheels with it.
my only issue with them was the wheels they sent me were white and i had to rattle can em. so if you buy from him tell them you want them black like there advertised.

Re: 16.5" H1 wheel recenters
Holy Sh%&, this must be a worlds first a thread posted 2 years ago, drug up from the dead and the OP actually responds 2 years later, on the same day no less, and if that weren't amazing, 2 minutes difference!!
But wow this has peaked my interest 16.5 rims
I also have a question here, For the occasional offroader does it really make sense to invest in beadlocks rather than regular 16.5 rims?
Also I'm guessing 16.5s do fit around the diskbrakes?

These wheels came with the bead locks on them (2 piece wheels) and runflats already installed in them.
To gain the correct offset (and to clear the brakes) you will need solid 2" billet spacers. 100 miles on them & so far so good. Just a mild shake out of one of the wheels about 60mph. I plan on having it rebalanced this Saturday.
I'll get some pics up once it stops snowing or raining long enough to take a few pics. But it does look pretty lethal looking. I had 37 x 13.50 R18 on there so these military tires are actually smaller.

Re: 16.5" H1 wheel recenters
Plus tires are cheap. $175-200 from some online Surplus sellers.
I ended up buying 5 complete wheels to have 1 as a spare.
But.... these are 175 lbs PER WHEEL. Keep that in mind when asking for help to put them on. Lol

Re: 16.5" H1 wheel recenters
While I can appreciate the BAedness (and believe me I wanna see it badly)
I just can't afford the entire dmaxstore kryptonite front end right now.
I would be highly interested on the other side if it was possible to use non beadlock wheels with these.
I really wanna see what people have done like that. Just some cheap steelies

Do these tires hit anything, or are you lifted?

Same height in rear but I think prev. owner put different torsion bars up front. No rubbing at all. Not even with my 37x13.5's.
Once it warms up, I plan on painting the rims in black Rhino bedliner like my last set. Makes them look even more bada$$.
Buying a set of 37x13.50 R18 tires at my cost was $1625 (used to own a wheel shop). This was, I got 5 wheels, tires, mounted & balanced w/ new style military runflats for less than $1K. Plus tire sidewalls are puncture resistant w/ Kevlar. This will come in handy once the Zombie Apocalypse hits.
