Default which tie Rod replacement?

so i am torn between which one to buy..

Cognito HD Heim Style Tie Rods $369.00

or

DMAX - (KRYPTONITE) Series Tie Rods $349.00

i like the look of the Heim style, but not sure of how much abse they will actually take. and also of being a stand out design than what is norm ( for most cars), i dont want to run in to any issues with that.

the fact that the heim ones can basically be replaced by just buying new end loops is nice too instead of buying most or a awhole new tie rod.

dont have to worry about lube...

the Kryptonites i like the design, but if i upgrade my centerlink, this will work with the Dmax centerlink.

i did look at the Rare Parts: Xtreme Duty Tie Rods, i just was not too impressed with them. i like the costs of them tho..

Currently i have Fabtech HD tie rods installed.

so gimme your thoughts please.

I have had the Kryptonites for a few months now and I was impressed by the quality and workmanship. I have not seen the Cognito Heim joint version. I looked at the heim joints originally for my UCA, however we have heavy salt on the roads where I live. I just dont think salt is good for them. Just my my 2 cents worth.

i live in Minnesota, we have the salt, and other chems as well, but i cant imagine that hasnt been thought into the design of the Heim joints.

it may sound like im am leaning towards the Heims, but honestly, im more interested in 150% rock solid durability. im not looking for something that will simply hold up, or anything.. im looking for something that if a bomb blew up my truck.. those damn tierods will still be connected to the centerlink and the steering knuckle, and i could pull them off and resell afterwards.

I think that the version of tie rod you are looking for was a military only version and cost about $3,000 each.....

Personally, I would not go with the cognitos. I have had them on my truck for just barely over a year and there is alot of play in them. I will be going with the dmax kryptonites next

Heim joints can start to Clunk so it looks like you made the correct choice! The Kryptos will be my next Tie Rods as soon as the crap FabTechs give up. For some reason I thought the Kryptos were more $? Did they just drop the price or am I dreaming?

thats the price i pulled from teh Dmax store..

I am running the Fabtechs right now, and thinking they might be the cause of my steering problems, plus they never really settled with me after reading all the posts about Fabtechs.
