Funny Recovery Effort
Classic example of why a shovel is a required item in your wheeling kit.
I was amazed how long it took for the Nissan to break something.
NOTE TO ALL: Don't put heavy loads on your rig while trying to pull something backwards. It's bad, mmmkay.

Re: Funny Recovery Effort
I don't think a shovel would have helped much. The problem was the boulder behind his front wheel. A high-lift would have been a big plus though.

I was talking about the recovery vehicle pulling in reverse.
And using a shovel to dig out behind the tires would have made a big difference. Believe me on this.

Re: Funny Recovery Effort
Question, was that nissan supposed to drive forward until the strap is all loose then snaps back like the way he did? As opposed to pulling back smoothly with a momentum? What he did doesn't look right nor safe to me

Re: Funny Recovery Effort
Because I am curious, would the following things be changed?
Back the Nissan in and attempt to pull in that manner or back the Nissan to the front of the Tahoe and pull him forward
Hi-Lift the back or front of the vehicle as necessary, and if so, how do you handle the jack when you move forward -- won't it go over?
Just curious about these things if I am ever in such a situation. Minus the Mexicans, meng.

If you used a high jack you'd fill in the hole with rocks or dirt and then lower the veicle before pulling.
Or they could have dug a trench behind the wheel. They also would have had to dig out the rear diferential. As it was if he had something that could have pulled it out of there without digging or jacking the rear of his truck would have looked simular to the car in the other video.
Hitches are not made to tow a vehicle that is stuck.
