Lutz says GM will export Hummer H2, Cadillacs for European market
By RICK KRANZ Automotive News Jan. 15, 2003

General Motors plans to sell the Hummer H2 and several Cadillac models in Europe, possibly as early as this year, said Vice Chairman Robert Lutz.

In an interview at the show, Lutz said GM will export the Hummer H2 and the Cadillac XLR roadster, SRX sport wagon, CTS V series and the base CTS.

A Cadillac spokesman said the Hummer H2 will go on sale in Europe, the Middle East and Asia in the second half of this year, a Hummer spokesman said. The vehicles heading to Europe are "got-to-have" products, Lutz said. They can withstand high European taxes, which can boost prices by 50 percent.

I wonder how GM will deal with capacity. I personally do not think they can help exceeding 40,000 vehicles a year. They are already there based on the trend from last year's sales.
