Re: 2002 Thinking of Selling
Realistically around 50-60k, it's a bad time to sell fuel guzzling toys right now. You'll get murdered on trade in. The high end stereo equipment doesn't buy you much in resale value.
The 01's and 02's I see moving are around that price range. 02's are a bit more desirable since you have the VIN code "F" block so anyone who buys your truck doesn't have to worry about the #8 problem.

Good info, but one thing to amend.
The updated "F" blocks were introduced mid-2001.

Re: 2002 Thinking of Selling
Man that thing rocks. If I can ask and not trying to sound like a complete Dumb Ass, but what kind of real world gas mileage can you get out of one of those. Just curious. I know you do not buy one for the mileage. And the mileage is not a plus but for sh!#'s and giggles. Thanks

Re: 2002 Thinking of Selling
Thanks for the input guys. I appreciate it all and if there is anything else anyone has to add I am all ears as I am certainly not an expert here. I have seen real world mileage around town of right around 10-12mpg depending on how you drive. Hwy is usually about 16 or so as long as you keep your speed down.

Re: 2002 Thinking of Selling
I will really think about it. I am leaning to getting a 2006. I am just trying to Justify the Dough. Reading some sites, and Alpha is so far a better performer in every way. Rox, can you chime in on that assessment?

Re: 2002 Thinking of Selling
Rox, I know I am just trying to simplify life. I have so much going on with work and other interests that I just dont get out as much as I should and enjoy the truck for it's intended purpose. AS far as the 02 vs. an 06 they are different animals but also vastly different price points as everyone well knows. With not much $$$ invested a non alpha can really be livened up.

Re: 2002 Thinking of Selling
A friend of mine here in Tucson is wanting to sell her husbands 1999 H1 open top. it has 35,699 miles and is in great condition. She is asking $65,000.00 for it. What do you all think? Is it too much and what do you think her chances are of selling it? Ive been trying to help her by posting it on different sites. Her husband can no longer enjoy it due to a medical condition. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
SORRY DIDNT MEAN TO HIJACK THIS THREAD.

Re: 2002 Thinking of Selling
$65,000 is way too much for a '99. Check out what they are going for on Ebay.

H1's are fairing a bit better then the H2 nosedive lately, but its not worth that much.
65,000 for a 1999 is way, way too high for a 9 year old H1. 65K can put you in a 2004 optimizer for example.
Low mileage 1999 OT you'll get around 40-45k maybe, if you actually want to sell it. You'll have a few people asking if the engine was replaced under warranty due to the #8 cylinder problem, that can either keep the value up, or lower it.
She will need to price it lower than www.lynchhummer.com. They have a 1999 going for 57k, but it has a Duramax conversion.
Ebay prices are hit or miss, look only at completed auctions. Some people think a 1994 H1 is worth 50,000$ because it has new paint and a playstation in it.

I really really freaking like it. Do you have any more pics and is there anything I need to know about it? Past problems, how much rock crawler experience does it have, etc.)
Interior pics and such?

Re: 2002 Thinking of Selling
I would be glad to take a bunch of pictures tonight and post them. The vehicle is in top notch shape and practically brand new. I do not say tht to sound sales like at all. I have put a ton of $$$ into the car to make sure it's stayed in top notch shape. As far as rock crawling it really hasn't seen alot of off road at all. The miles are mostly hwy miles. The custom interor isn't more than 6-8 months old and gets tons fo positive feedback. I would also be glad to put you in touch with my service advisor at the local dealership. The only reason I am selling s I believe I mentioned is that I just am not using it and have a bunch of other interests that I am currently involved in.

I agree 100% 45K list price, let them talk you down to 42K or so.
