Was just wondering....Here in Pennsylvania, my H2 is considered a station wagon, which means the plates are the same price as a car. Would this be the same for an H1, or is it considered a truck?
I hate to say it, but I am starting to get the hots for an H1

In TN, the Hummer is a Class III truck. Which means here it is not subject to emissions inspections

Nothing special here in Texas either, for normal use.

Well I can tell you for a fact that in PA the H1 is considered a truck and not a car like the H2. I went from paying $35 for registraion on the h2 to something like $190 for the H1 (might be some extra dealer cost in that number but it's still a good deal more). Based on weight class...
Small price to pay though. Love the H1.

Actually if you register it as a "truck" in Texas, I think you save like $5 and it will give you the ability to legally park in a loading zone as well.

Frg,
I stand corrected, you're right. I'm just so used to seeing "Texas Truck" I equate it with a normal plate. I had no idea I could park in a loading zone though. Cool!
Registering as "Farm Truck" (which helps on sales tax) is what I was referring to. You've got to be careful though, you can get into trouble if you aren't on the back 40 7 days a week.

In Wisconsin anything that has a truck bed (even the El Camino)has to be registared as a truck. What plates do you have to get to have your truck considered to be a Class III weight?

Maybe someone else can jump in here.
I'm not totally sure if there is anything that delineates it as a class III, except when paying the renewal.
I'm pretty sure it's based on weight. approx. $57.00 for the H2, Denali, and 2500 Suburban here in Tom Green County. I received the renewal on the H1 This week and it is $75.00
(and these are for the "truck" designation)
