Default A Couple Of Oddities...

So having driven the H2 for a few weeks now I have noticed a couple of oddities I thought I would ask about here.

First is the indicator light on the 4 wheel drive selection panel. 99% of the time the yellow light next to 4H is on, however every once in a while the red light next to neutral comes on and stays on for a while. There is no difference in how it drives, the light is just different.

The second thing I have noticed is that once in a while when I get back in and take off, the recirc on the A/C has turned off. In other words when I shut the vehicle off, the recirc was on, then when I restart and leave, it has turned off.

Anyone else see either of these minor issues?

next to the off button I believe. I know mine usually never defaults to recirc so I always have to turn it on. Also it will only go into recirc if you are using the top vents or top vents/foot vents.

The red neutral light is a common problem and is related to the buttons getting old. Come to a stop and select 4H and the light will go out - at least that's what the dealer told me to do. Then at a stop cycle through the 4X4 buttons. This is a problem that for many people just seems to go away after time. I had this when my H2 was new and they replaced all the 4X4 buttons under warranty and it was fine for 4 years and started doing it again for a few months and then it stopped on its own and I haven't seen the red neutral light in over a year now. I also got a service 4 wheel drive light once on the message panel with the red light on and the dealer told me to come to a stop, select 4H and the message went out and never came on again. My recirc does the same thing as yours does on a random basis.

My recirc button does something like that too but figured out that I when I put AC on to wait 2 secs before hitting that recirc button. If u do this it comes on every time and stays on.

My AC recirculation button does the same thing. I have no problem with the lights for 4x4 though. Common problem though.

Has anyone thought that the AC recirc is switching off because he might have programmed it that way when setting his seats and such?

I know on my Vette if you program driver 1, the seats, mirrors, radio and a/c all adjust to the programmed driver 1 setting.

I think the H2 does the same thing

It isn't off all the time when I start it up, just every now and then.

sounds like a programming glitch or possibly a short

given, do you remember if you turned the recirc off prior to shutting it down the last time, could be using the memory last function

I think the A/C Rec button has to do with the air temp setting on the A/C panel
and the fan speed , plus the outside temp around the truck at the time you use the A/C

I always leave it on because it blows harder with it on. I think it has more to do with other settings as mentioned above, and not an electrical issue.

With the 4X4 lights, I'm leaning towards either a switch with a intermitant short, or loose wire. Earlier today while sitting in a drive-thru when I had the stereo turned up, the beat of the music was making the neutral light flash. I pressed the 4HI and the light started blinking, then I got the service 4X4 notice on the dash. Shut off and restarted and it went back to normal.
