Well, I've had a stainless BPP Shifter handle in my truck for a long time now, but I'm always having problems with it coming loose. I have even blue lock-tited the damn screw in place and it'll still come loose after a bit. Anyone have this problem/fix it? I was thinkin about maybe trying out one of the Defender Worx Shifters......anyone have one? Thanks!

i have heard of several problems with these new shifters in general. I want to get a nice billet one, they look sharp, but they just get loose. I dont know why that is. but it sucks. good luck... let me know if you find one that doesnt slip.

I have the SMA billet shifter and it kept getting loose so I used the Lock-tite and that fixed it. No problems for 6 months.

Yeah I figured most people were gonna say theres did the same thing. I'll just locktite it again and hope for the best I guess....The locktite did help when I used it, but after months it still came semi-loose.

Is the screw turning and coming loose, or is the whole handle wearing somewhere?

If it's the screw, use Loctite RED. It won't come loose again.

If it's the screw, use Loctite RED. It won't come loose again.

Before u put on red loctite use some brake or carb cleaner to get any oil off of the parts.
The red will hold lots better.

Its not the screw coming loose at all as far as I can tell. I rreally think its the same problem as the SMA handle where its coming loose from twisting/sitting high.

I tried three SMA chrome shifters on my H2 and all sat too high and just dident look right. On the last try we ordered a new shifter from SMA and this one fit just right. Alec is correct, only use the new version shifter it will fit fine. If you have an older version just exchange it with SMA. BIG-C

Hey Circuitguy, did SMA exchange it for you or did you have to go through your dealer?
