Stock Radio Question

I've read the owner's manual a few times but cannot figure out how to fix two things. I must be having a brain cramp or something. How do I get rid of the brackets (<>) on the display? If I press the ptype button, "ptype" appears between the brackets and goes away when I press the button again, but I want to get rid of the brackets. Also, the owners manual states that the AVOL button allows me to set it at 1, 2, or 3 but when I press it, it only allows me to turn it on or off. What am I missing? Thanks for any help you can provide.

sbmike,I have the same problem with those goddam (<>) things on the display and have tried everything in the book , and still can,t get them off!! Can anyone please help??!!

Yep he may be correct. Do you see Black Helicopters in your area.. if so beware.

I never looked that close at my radio.. Does it not work when you have the symbols displayed?

It always works! They even get you at home. Thats why they want you to have cable. The governemnt is in contol of all cable and dish companies. They put those damed boxes in your house so that they can monitor your every move. Look closely at your cable or satalite box...see the dark red square??? Thats NOT for the remote. Its a camera. Thats why Im a rabbit- ear man myself. If it aint local I dont need it. The coat hanger with foil works well too. Oh...you can filter much of what they hear by placing foil over the windows of the trailer. Mines a double wide so it took lots of foil but hey...I can afford a H2 so a little foil aint nothin to me. I HIGHLY recomend a 4" diameter ball of foil over the "ONSTAR" PROBE as well. ONSTAR...yea right! ONSTAR really stands for OUR NETWORK STAYS TARGETED AND RELIABLE" Some may doubt these FACTS but thre truth is there. Stareing at you in your faces...laughing at you from your cable box.
