Windshield scratches...
Man am I bummed out. I had my 13 year old son wash the H3 for me. He noticed a lot of dead bug stuff on the windshield. So he grabbed the ScotchBright pad from the kitchen sink and proceeded to clean the dead bugs off. Now there are horizontal scratches that are really bad, especially in the sun.
Anybody know of a glass polish or how I can reduce how bad the scratches are?

Walked out the front door to find the neighbors kid going back and forth down the side with their sprinkler in his had like he was washing it. His dumb ass mom was just sitting on their front porch watching, said she thought it was cute. Asked her how cute it was when see saw the quote to get it repainted

I've had the very same thing happen. If the scratches aren't very deep you might want to try this...doesn't make it perfect, but I found it did help reduce the ill effects

Re: Windshield scratches...
I think you could take it to a glass shop and they can buff it out, if you cant feel it with your finger nail. Really sucks about that one, one of the reasons I decided 25 years ago to just say no to kids, now at 44 Im thinking I made the right choice! Sorry bout your window Id be more than pissed.

Re: Windshield scratches...
ummmm, you're windshield isn't actually glass. They're made out of safety plexiglass if I'm correctly informed.

Re: Windshield scratches...
Windshields are two safety glass layers with a plastic layer in between to hold the glass together in an accident (also helps to keep the unbelted driver/passenger inside during a crash ). If the glass is broken, it will shatter into small, non-sharp edged pieces, and the laminated plastic helps to hold together. Lamination also helps to prevent the windshield from totally shattering due to a hit from a large rock, bird, pedestrian, etc.
Plexiglass would be scratched to hell within weeks if used on a windshield. You can scratch glass, but there are places that can remove scratches. I have seen demonstrations of this while in TN.

Re: Windshield scratches...
Just throw a rock through it and let the insurance company replace it.
