I came across this post on another H2 forum and thought you may find this interesting since people were wondering what the dyno numbers were. Looks like the dyno number previously posted were inaccurate. In case you were wondering who's post I copied and pasted, it was by Shawn over at www.thelapd.com

SoCalH2

We put our 2004 bone stock H2 on our 4WD Dynojet this morning and here are the numbers.

First Run: 154.86 total hp at all four wheels/234.74 total tq at all four wheels.

Second Run: 161.57 total hp at all four wheels/239.29 total tq at all four wheels.

Last Run: 171.52 total hp at all four wheels/251.46 total tq at all four wheels.

Even though the H2 is stock, it is running VERY lean throughout the RPM band on the air/fuel graph.

We will dyno tune it within the next week and release the new power numbers.

You now have real world dyno numbers that your H2 puts out more or less.

Just thought you guys would be interested!

I ALSO HAVE VIDEO OF ALL THREE DYNO RUNS, BUT I DON'T KNOW HOW TO POST THEM FOR YOU TO SEE. If someone emails me while I am here at work, I can email you the video files so we can get them posted.

Thanks!

Shawn

Wow! That seems real low. Could drivetrain loss be that high?

This Hypertech chart looks closer to the truth.

KenP,

FYI, I finally spoke with someone over at LAPD today and they said they were not allowed to post because the owner of this board saw them as competition because LAPD sells SMA stuff and so does the owner of this board. At any rate, they seem to know what they are doing and are the only ones in SoCal with a 4WD Dynojet. They could have shared good info with us, but oh well.

It seems like the Hypertech graph shows one thing and that is to convince you to buy their crap programmer that doesn't provide any gains unless you own a Diesel truck. Hypertech also doesn't say which Dyno they used. Their numbers sound very close to the shop that dynoed an H2 with only the rear wheel rollers which is not going to be accurate.

The numbers don't seem off especially when you consider the drivetrain loss on an AWD vehicle that really doesn't have that much power to begin with.

At any rate, LAPD does have a good reputation in the Corvette community and does seem to do a good job in tuning.

Bottom line is that someone over at LAPD took the time to speak with me and help me out with questions that I had and it doesn't make sense to pretty much bash them when they have an overall great reputation.

Just something to think about and always remember there is always two sides to every story.

I am glad they took the time for you.

If you read my very short post carefully you will realize I did not bash them. I did not question their reputation. Nor did I take sides with anything.

I merely stated a fact, they were questioned and disappeared from the site.

Now that I know the "facts" as you state them I can say Good. I am sure you must agree Jason does not need competition on his own site.

Again, to be perfectly clear, read my post again and you will see I did not bash that company.

This is from the rear wheels only which will read higher but can be used as a comparison. Phil at Dynotech Engineering said the drivetrain creates a huge loss in power.

Cruzmisl,

The figures in your chart look about right. Somewhere around 350HP with a bolt-on supercharger, adding about 100HP from stock.

If I ever hit the lottery, I'm going to get a ZZ572/620 installed.

Klaus, at the Chrysler/Dodge dealership this weekend I saw a Viper powered Ram truck producing about 500hp. Sticker is $49K + $10K over. U should test drive one

Sounds nice, but I really like sleepers. While I enjoyed the Corvette I traded in for the H2, my favorite was my 1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1. I built a 429 Cobra-Jet motor and installed it in the car. I did not put any markings of what was under the hood on the car. This was in 1979-80.

Needless to say - I surprised many a Vette and Z28 with that car. I LOVE big block motors.

I'd settle for a Duramax,a programmer stacked w/ another box,nitrous and propane.
Who wouldn't want 700+ hp
