Only happens to me
so i had a rental car last week because i didnt want to put miles on my brothers Eclipse. I had to drive to NY from Ga. I was happy to drive a chevy. So happy that I was blinded. I drove around GA, doing my typical stops before I headed out. The tank was completely empty. I pulled into Kroger to fill up, noticing that the sign said 2.49 unleaded.
i dont know what I was thinking.
But I filled that damn TrailBlazer up with Premium. I dont know what i was thinking. The worst feeling in the world is when you walk up to pay for gas and have to hand over two $50 bills. (and lets just say..I got coins back)
I was so depressed for the rest of the ride to NY. I even think a tear came down my eyes. My girlfriend looked at me when the tear was coming down, and i had to look away.
I was sad, and said "this better be the smoothest ride in my life".
When the tank ran out, i was so bitter still that I wanted to fill it 3/4 unleaded and 1/4 of just water.
Enterprise was lucky i couldnt find a hose.
Just me?

Re: Only happens to me
How does this make you feel, today? Are you angry with the gas station for putting the damn pumps so close together, or with yourself for grabbing the wrong one? What kind of physical and psychological changes have you noticed since the incident?
It's this type of thing that really gets me angry with the world. It could've been so easily avoided, but it just happened. I feel for you.

Re: Only happens to me
don't feel too bad. here in mex, i am afraid to use the regular! the fuel is so bad here, we have to change fuel filters at every other oil change! i do feel a little satisfaction (at your expense), since 2006 is the first year in the last 8 that fuel is more expensive in the US than here.
thank God the H3's have small fuel tanks! my bronco has an oversized tank and costs about 85-90 dollars to fill, so at least when i fill up the hummer for around 50, it feels like i am getting a good deal!
don't worry, fuel will continue to go nowhere but up!!!!
