Hi All,
I am looking into buying an H3 and ran into the following bigger and minor issues:
Engine:
little bit underpowered.
Hopefully solved throu a Diesel.
Automatic transmission:
5 gears would be nicer... also for fuel economy
Rear seats:
They dont fold down flat. Bad if you want to sleep in the car on a trip or if you have some real heavy load.
Limited sight:
That's the way it is, I guess. If you like the car for its looks, you have to live with that.
Finally a question regarding the computer:
The computers on other trucks feature infos like average gas milage, current gas milage, average speed, miles left on the tank. Is it the same on the H3?
I am really courious in how far these are actual issues in daily life. Any feedback welcome.
Thank you,
Marc

Maybe the H3 isn't the vehicle for you. Don't know of any changes coming soon to meet your issues.

You might want to look into purchasing a nice mountain bike with trip computer.

Already have a mtn bike and want an h3? Someone is sure living in excess.
How are you even considering the h3 after all the problems you believe it has? Usually you knock the vehicle off the list if it doesn't suit your needs and go on to the next one.
I think you be better off trying to get McDonalds to make their french fries taste like corn.

I smell a revolting ego...
Read carefully: "I am really courious in how far these are actual issues in daily life. Any feedback welcome."
In this sense - if I understand you right - you try to tell me the following in an inarticulate way:
- No, the engine is just fine.
- 5 gears would be nice, but I am fine with 4 too.
- The rear seats might not be ideal, but I didn't run into problems so far.
- I never missed the features of a trip computer.
- if you don't like the hummer how it is, GFY.
- and its freedom fries, not french fries.
Well, if you mean it this way, you helped me quite a lot. Thank you Sir.
sincerely,
Treehugger
Thank you for the info, Green Lantern.

I smell euro-trash..or is that just your lack of deodorant??
Seriously, if the H3 has so many issues from your POV, why even ask if you should still get one? Is there any reason you should get one? NO and honestly it would be better for all of us if you didn't since you might feel some entitlement on this forum after your purchase and then start a bunch of whiny-ass threads about how mena everyone is and how you just want info and can't someone moderate the forum....waaaaaaa....
S </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
Yes, yes,.... very Euro, very Trash. And also yes, I am abig stinker.
I am not complaining about anyone. I think its fun.
Seriously. I try to find a desicion if the H3 is able to replace our current car and add the offroad aspect on top, or if I need to keep our current car and get the H3 additionaly for me mainly/exclusivly for offroading. That's basically it.
To specify it further:
- Has anyone heard that the Diesel is actually coming and when?
- Has anyone heard if they are planning on a 5 Gear transmission?
- Has anyone ever had any broken hinges or damage seats because of the seats not folding down completly?
cheerz,
Marc

The windows are maybe my biggest concern. My wife already hit poles on two parking lots with our car. That makes a total of 4000$ damage so far.
What I read so far about the limited sight on this forum is probably one of the biggest arguments to keep our car for her and buy the H3 just for me.

Yes many on this forum have less than an 8th grade US education as noted in this thread .
No the H3 is not the vehicle for you at this point.

Your wife hit poles, in two parking lots? Stationary poles, that never move. My suggestion is to take away her drivers license and don't even let her ride in a car again. I'd hate to see the mayhem once you let her out on the roads with moving objects.
And because you said freedom fries, you are not right for anything hummer. Try a honda or toyota.

Did your wife hurt himself? Maybe his neck was sore and he couldn't look out the window properly?
