So I go in and out of New York city often for work...and end up parking in the transit parking lot w/ a decent level of comfort...

So Monday I just got home and off the train...walking to my rig when I noticed that an Audi and Escallade were missing their headlights COMPLETELY ( big BLACK VACANT spots )...being ignorant and not knowing that HEADLIGHTS (?!?!) were the new thing in auto theft I almost brushed it off...then I noticed one or two more...and the light bulb went off....so i called 911 ( still walking to my truck )...

tell them what happened and they say their sending someone.

I get up to my truck, and the Audi next to me was hit too!!! UGH...i walk around my truck...no body damage, lights still there...go to open the door and AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH THOSE ASSCLOWNS!!! the busted in and went through my rig.

Luckily I dont have anything in it out of the standard Lux package and a radar detector...( no DVD etc )...they went through everythign and found nothing ( haha! ) but a bestbuy gift card...they DIDNT EVEN TAKE MY RADAR DETECTOR just sitting on the front windshield...

UGH!! I WAS SOOO PISSED AND FELT VILOATED...really i wasnt overly mad though ( surprisingly enough becaue w/ my temper i normally would have torn down a few trees and ripped off a door or two ) probably because i felt worse for the other people that got hit worse and still had no idea what they were coming home too

so the police said this happens fairly frequently!!! I definitely need to find somewhere else to park...

Total damage was basically the two door locks ( they broke both sides...no idea why...wasn't one enough? ) around $400 total...

so this REALLY sucks...i realize GMs are known for this weakness...apparently the alarm didn't go off?

I'm going to get it fixed soon...should I opt for the Billet Crome door handles? will this help at all for hopefully what is NOT a next time around...

-oh and a side note, i cancelled the gift card and they are reissuing it...F@#% those assclowns...to add insult to injury they have a WORTHLESS giftcard!

the police said it was a good thing I called when I did...apparently they didnt even get away w/ all the headlights...they were stashed under another truck to be picked up later ( apparently my train arriving wasn't timely for them )

I hope *******s like that rot in Hell...if i knew who it was and saw them on the street, guaranteed I would suddenly loose control of the steering of my H2 and drive over their small cocks!!! UGH!!!

Thanks. I saw your posts too a while back and thought how much it must have sucked!! Unfortunately now I'm part of the club!!! it didnt even look like those ****bags attempted to do anything...steal it, etc...police said they were amatures!

Think the Billet all crome handles will help any? had you gone that route? My thinking is they wont...a keyhole is a keyhole...dealer said they would...but you know HOW HONEST they (typically) are

Sorry to hear that!
If they already hit that parking lot, chances are they'll be moving on to a new one.

What about the other cars? Were any of their alarms going off?

nope, nothing...not a sound...surprising (especially considering they were 'amatures' )

...the REALLY sad thing is I guess the Audi's are not as easy to get in and out of, their entire driver side doors had huge RIPS in the metal so they could get the door open...so again, probably why i wasnt so mad...i can appreciate a nice car and someones love for their vehicles...lots of people were hearbroken that night!!

yeah, i guess since i now have the opportunity to maybe get crome handles...i'll look into them...not sure if i want to crome it up that much though.

Tully,

You have my sympathy. My Tahoe got the window smashed, got the ignition torn out of the column, got stolen for about 3 days. Plenty of time for these young entrepreneurs to steal most of my wardrobe (I had just come from the dry cleaners and the laundry), some side arms (they missed the broken down long gun) and a ton of German medical gear that was irreplaceable (it's no longer made). All in all, I got hit for about 10 Large.

Still, my work ID and passport weren’t taken, the truck was repairable and no one got hurt. I’m afraid the quote above says a lot. My clothing was visible through the darkly tinted windows. I was parked in Santa Monica right by the ocean. The cops said that lots of tourists park there and get broken into. I may need to spring for a secure cargo drawer for the trunk floor. Not carrying gear isn’t really an option for me.

Anyway, get yourself whatever toys or bling will make you happy and help you get past this.

Peace,
