I like the subs in the back (on one side only), others are kinda raping a good truck...

Looks like mucho dinero in audio/video. Im going to be putting a sub in my truck but im not exactly sure how i want the box. Im going with 1-kicker solo sl7 and i understand to really get the feel for the speaker the box needs to be ported. That being said this is an install i really like, although id want the box to be on the drivers side so i dont create a blind spot:

the box depends what kinda music you listen to. if you listen to rap with a lot of base then id port it but if you listen to rock or something with fast bussy base then it should be sealed so the woffer can keep up.

I don't think there is so much difference in sound since you'll be listening music in the most horrible environment anyhow acustic-wise (vehicle that it). Ported has general benefit over sealed because it needs clearly less space. Sealed box volume has to be bigger for the same audio performance than ported.

For just a 10in i am looking for good deep base response. From my research the solo is more an spl speaker and it doesnt really sound good sealed. If it sounds good sealed or not doesnt really matter as i think im going to go ported due to my preference in music. Just need to find someone qualified to do a box like i want. I would assume it takes a particular skilled individual that you may not find at just any audio shop.

if you want deep base then yes go ported but a 12" would be alot better. its very important to find the right shop. dont be in a rush find a good one but its gonna cost ya.

I was looking into 1 12 but with a ported box the it seemed like it was going to take up too much space. Ive already got the ten just need to get an amp and instal it. Im not looking to enter competitions but sometimes i like to jam on the way to the gym to get myself in the mood. Its also important that i keep my space. One thing i do remember from high school is it was never enough so im getting an amp big enough to push a 12 or 2-10s. When i get them installed ill post pics.

white LEDs pretty much invisible during the day (got 'em throughout interior...good for lighting up door handles)
the dash cutout is pretty subtle in daylight as well, but it's usually obscured by the LCD

Any idea how much room (cubic feet) there are under second row seats to build and instal sub enclosures in there?

the truck has TOO MUCH SH+T to list but as by amps.
(2) PPI PCX 2400's for subs
(1) Kicker 800.4 for my doors.
Anyone who went to moab spring 05 can speak on its behalf.. it was my pet project since i got the truck aug. 03. I had it for 1 day then sent it off for 3 months of custom work. It sure is very special.
