Default which wire do i connect to?

Ok i installed a spare tire carrier on the back of my 2003 H2.

It came with a light with just one wire... so i assume that its ground by the connection... so my question is what wire do i connect this to under the bumper to work?

How about the original license plate light wire?

stoopid noobie. There is no original license plate wire to tap into on an '03. Unless he wants to have a wire hanging out of his rear door.

Just find the parking light wire in the trailer wiring group behind the bumper. If you need more detailed info just speak up more and we will ridicule you some more and then be more specific as in wire color and where (but I'll have to look it up or go look under my truck and it's very dirty under there)

it's a brown wire that you'll need to splice to. There should be a brown wire (along with several others) going into the back of the trailer receptacle. That's your park lamps circuit.
