How long you plan to keep your HUM
I take a very good care of mine
First reason : I love it
Second reason : I will pass this truck to my daughter when she go to the college ( she is only 9 years old )
Then maybe to my grandchildren

Re: How long you plan to keep your HUM
I bought a GMPP for mine back in June that is good for 3 years so I will likely keep it another 2 years so I can sell it with a little warranty left. Would absolutely love it if GM would come out with a DMax Suburban/Yukon XL.

Re: How long you plan to keep your HUM
The only reason I would even consider trading mine in would be for an 08/09 with low miles and a decent price. Of course all my mods would be swapped over. No way in hell is any dealership getting mine the way it sits!

Re: How long you plan to keep your HUM
Until there is no way left to fix repair or drive it. Then I will park it in the driveway and sit in it going vroom vroom vroom until I pass
- BTW Guru, with the prices of gas the way they are... I almost feel like they are trying to outlaw gas

Re: How long you plan to keep your HUM
i have to agree with the guys above...
im going to run mine into the ground and until it cant be fixed.
if the motor ever craps out, im going to throw a big block in there and give it a reason to get crappy MPG. im thinking 454 atleast, maybe a 502....
then again, my wife prolly has other thoughts......

why??? what is the point??
1. you gain little MPG over the 6.0/6.2 thats in the H2
2. is the extra torque worth the $25k minimum that you will spend on a coversion?
3. with diesel being close to $4 a gallon, you will be paying more on top of 25K you spent on a diesel that you will not gain back in 5, 10, 20 years.
4. every conversion has been/is plagued by misc problems that cant be fixed, or just unknown.
i know there are a few people who have done it on this forum... no disrespect, but its a stupid waste of $$$ and most likely they dont use it enough to have even warranted the coversion.
If Hummer built a Diesel H2, that would be different.

Re: How long you plan to keep your HUM
As much as I would kill for a diesel in my 2 I do have to agree. One thing to swap in older vehicles without all the electronics but the depth of a diesel swap in these things are far too costly and full of issues!

What are these problems you guys are referring? 'Cause my Duramax H2 is ROCK SOLID! Guess it all depends on who you have do the conversion.
Also, you guys talk about the cost of the conversion.... most of you are 3/4 of the way there in terms of cost when you add up your lift, wheels and tires, other suspension goodies, tuners, exhaust, stereo systems, etc. For me, I got the conversion because I wanted it and could afford to do it. It wasn't for gas mileage purposes. If any H2 owner is worried about mpgs they should consider buying a Prius and getting out their deuce. LOL
