Default Bad rattle question

When I am driving against the wind, there seems to be a rattle in the dash, can't seem to exactly locate it. It only seems to be around 70 mph into the wind. Any ideas on what it is? My worry is if wind can get in..... so can rain.

thanks,

Jeff

search for:
windshield rattle or windshiled air leak
dash rattle

Also check your sunroof deflector to see if it is tight.
Sounds like the windshield air leak deal. Also check your a pillar outside covers to see they are tight. I used to 3M tape mine down.

Thanks for the info. I am getting a list together and am about to take it to the dealership for some other small issues. Just wanting to find out if it is a known problem or if I was the first

I had the same thing. I'll bet it's the pillar post covers on the windshield. They vibrate so much it affects the dash. This is a common H2 problem. The dealers now use a tape-mastic combination which solves the problem. If you're handy open the door, pull the rubber trim off, unscrew the three phillips screws and pop off the simulated air cleaner bulges behind the hood ( you need them off to get the plastic pillar posts completely off so you can clean the windshield thoroughly before you put down mastic). Use a high grade epoxy mastic and you'll be in business. Since their is a GM TB out on this, the dealer "may" do it for free.
Mine did it around 65 and at first I thought it was the sunroof deflector, but I found on this forum it's a common problem and it can buzz your dash too.
