Default H3 front door speakers

Has anyone replaced their front door speakers in a 2009 H3 or H3T. I'd really love to upgrade and would imagine that it's pretty simple to install yourself. I was told that 6 3/4 speakers are stock in the 2009's. Does anyone have any info on taking the door panels off. Is it difficult? What do i need to do it. I'd really like to save the $60 and not give it to Best Buy. Also if you have directions or pictures, that would be alot of help. Thanks for any info.

Hey Terry, it's fairly easy. There are three screws that have to come out. One is under a cap behind the door release handle the other two are concealed behind a cover on the actual door grip that you use to pull the door closed from the inside. Just use a small flat head screw driver and pry it off. Once all of the screws are out, I started at a spot closest to the door hinge near the top of the door panel and just pulled the door panel off one clip at a time working around the door in a counterclockwise direction. Just give it a quick pull every few inches around the panel until all of the clips come loose.

Once you get the panel off just disconnect the lock mechanism cables from the panel and disconnect the wiring harness plug for the window/lock controller and your done.

Hope that helps!

What are the color codes for the front speakers. Which colors are positive and which are negative.

Thanks,

Found out from GM today the color codes. I listed them on Monsoon thread.

Where is the monsoon subwoofer located? i'm looking at putting a small system in my T, just the stuff from my old 07 Quad Cab Hemi... but there doesnt seem to be enough room to fit anything under or behind the seats!

The back door 6x9 speakers are dual cone and half of the speaker is wired for subwoofer signal. Weird Huh? That's the way the factory did it. I rewired new speakers as rear left and right and took the sub connections and ran them to amplified subwoofer under seat.
