Default XM radio issues

I have the store bought Xm radio module in my H3. When I tune to it it only plays out of the right side speakers. But if I tune to the radio, ipod, or CD everything plays fine.
Now I just got my H3 out of the dealer where they had to change the body control module because of a faulty rear defroster. They actually were blaming the wiring of my pioneer nav system and all my other accessories. For the defroster problem. But now the Xm isn't working properly.
Needless to say could this problem be just a wire that got knocked off that would cause the XM radio to do this.
Thanks

Default Re: XM radio issues

Not knowing how you wired it makes it extremely difficult to diagnose such as factory radio, adapters if any), it is also a bit confusing as to if the XM worked correctly before having service performed. However, since the factory has a right and a left input from the XM module, one would have to assume the left wire is no longer connected. If the left wire is connected, then you could have a defective module.

As for the BCM, if accessories are installed and the installation messes up the factory equipment, the dealer can refuse to repair the item. However, the dealer better be able to explain fully how this new equipment has messed up the factory wiring or component.

Default Re: XM radio issues

Hey f5fstop, The XM worked perfectly befor ethe BCM issue. I have a after market pioneer nav system with the after market XM module since the factory unit could not be connected to the new radio.
The reason why I brought the car into hummer originally was that the rear defroster wasn't working. They said it was a bad BCM module. Needless to say after they installed the new one they think the guys who installed my radio system cut into one of the wires going into the BCM module. So supposedly Hummer replaced that wire. Anyways the XM was working fine for a couple of days until I heard the missing left channel last night.
Now it's gets interesting. i went into my car today it was working fine. I went to a store and when I got back the XM was again playing out of the right channel only.
I'm assuming it must be a loose connection or the unit is going. I got it all installed at Circuit city and I never had a problem. This all started after the servicing at the Hummer deal.
I appreciate all your help f5fstop....
Thanks
