Default Wiring backup camera

Hey everyone, I'm getting ready to install a new navigation unit and backup camera, going to drill into the rear bumper for the camera placement. Has anyone had to run the wire for this before? I've checked another H2 I have with the same setup and I can see the wire running up into a hole on the right side of the rear bumper area.

Any suggestions on the best way to run the cable from the rear bumper to the deck?

Thanks!

I had my camera mounted just above the license plate under the chrome plate.

I did mine. I would say its very easy if you have a lift or are small built to get under it and move around to run the cable from the bumper up to the engine bay. I am neither of those and it wasn't bad. I would say it took me less than 2 hrs, probably closer to 1 hr. When I drilled the bumper I had to keep drilling the mount bolt holes bigger as they are angled. Siliconed the crap out of it so it wouldn't rust.

I ended making a custom hole above the license plate between the two license plate lights. Ran the cable into the door using the same hole as the lights were using, then ran it through the interior of the door up to to the top where I have it exposed for about 5 inches until it goes into the panels lining the roof of the interior.

For mine, they camera wire runs down the side of the frame rail and finally enters into the cabin by the drivers area. It was dealer installed.
