Default side / step / nerf bars

Ok guys, I am looking for a set of step bars and what I *really* want are stainless steel bars that are powder-coated black. I am about to go blind searching accessory sites that have conflicting information, conflicting pictures, etc. and so I am coming to you for some reliable direction. For sure, if the bars aren't stainless then I might as well just go for the factory bars, but I would really like to find black, powder-coated stainless steel bars that mount strongly to my H2.

Thanks.

I think you'd be better off having them fabricated. Powder coating is cheap, and you could have them make quick disconnect mountings.

Now that's an interesting idea. The option to have quick-disconnects when I may need the extra clearance on short notice sounds great. Do you have any more information on hand that you can share about such a system? Of course I will do my own searching, but would certainly appreciate anything you could point to directly.

Thanks for the idea, I may go this route.

Think about using the principle of a receiver hitch. Square tubes, welded to the frame. The bars would have a smaller diameter mounting tube, secured by a couple of bolts or pins.

I've used this idea on shallow water vessels when performing surveys. The equipment just slides in and then is removed for transit back to the dock.

I also used this idea on my RV to mount shade canopies.

Just get the U steps. They are powdercoated aluminum with quick disconnects and look badass!!

Yup, the "U" steps are on the way. Now I just need to find a nice wrap-around brush guard, black-on-stainless.

Thanks guys.
