Democrats 6 Point Plan for 2006

First of all, the DNC?s number one priority is ?honest leadership and open government.? To be perfectly honest, America would be safer if Democrats were a little less open. In recent years, Democrats? propensity for openness has led them to reveal life-saving national security secrets like Patriot Act surveillance techniques and how the government tracks terrorist funds. Rather than a chatty-Cathy approach to governance, America would be safer if Democrats knew when to stay tight-lipped (really tight-lipped, in Pelosi?s surgically-enhanced case).

When it comes to ?honest leadership,? Democrats are really good at pointing fingers at Republicans. Admittedly, there are corrupt politicians in Washington; some of them are Republicans.

If Democrats are feeling really honest and open, they might ask Sen. Harry Reid and Rep. William Jefferson a few ethics-related questions. Democratic activists would also do well to be a little more honest and open in their voter registration drives (instances of corruption are already well-documented in Missouri, Ohio, Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, Colorado and elsewhere).

The Democrats? second priority is ?real security.? This is, obviously, the opposite of the ?fake security? America has enjoyed, with no major terror attacks since Sept. 11.

Democrats really nailed it here ? real security means telling the truth. America will sleep well knowing that when it comes to National Security, Pelosi promises to be honest. In the event of a catastrophic terrorist attack, a nuclear Iran, a major regional conflict in Korea or a host of other potentially deadly scenarios, the DNC offers America no strategy, no principle, no goal. But they will ? tell the truth. Can?t you just see the news clip now?

As voters from both parties head to the polls next week, some of them may feel frustration with the current Republican leadership. Republican leadership is not perfect, but Democratic leadership is the alternative. ?Honest leadership? (that won?t fix its own corruption), ?open government? (that can?t keep national security secrets), ?real security? (that offers no plan). Do these sound like winning priorities for America?
