I like the SS flares I have but with the liftkit and bigger tires, they're really still too narrow.

I've always liked the E&G flares but absolutely refuse to drill holes in my body. I got to thinking, is there a lip on the edge that I could twoside tape it on?

Anyone have any pics of the flares before they put them on?

Thanks,

Mark

Oh come on, surely one of you guys took pics of your flares before you put them on, right?

Er, or am I the only one that does that kind of crap?

Phil,

Why not, do you think there's not enough lip? The reason I was thinking about it is because the factory flares on my Yukon came with clips or you could two side tape them on.

I taped them on and after 5 years, they never came off.

Thanks for the pics.

They're very sturdy with just the factory screws holding them in place. I've got to say, though, I think they'd look ridiculas with those holes and nothing in them.

Actually, I had already thought of that. In the bodyshop, we use these "blind" screws. They have big flat heads that look like a thin washer with a threaded stud on them.

Since they are so flat, I could push them behind the flare and use an acorn style nut to attach them with. The bolts would still look real.

get the drill out.....take the stock flares off and leave em off....all holes under flares line up great....test fit...then drill away.....mine came out great and stop all kinds of crap.. use a nice sharp bit.... a few holes that felt double thick i reamed a bit cause the screws heads are easy to bung up if your trying to force them in holes...drill away... it only hurts if you f.u. ......soft

Soft,

I appreciate the advise. I own a bodyshop and have been in the business for over 20 years. Installing them (and even going so far as painting around the holes isn't difficult) What is difficult is for me to drill holes on my perfectly good panel.

I think I'm going with the two-side tape trick. Like I mentioned, I installed my flares on my Yukon and never once did I have to retape it.

Thanks,

Mark

Good luck with the tape.
I'm sure it'll work out fine, as long as you don't come to South Texas during the summer!

Why, because of the heat or you gonna steal them?
