I lost my map disc for the H2 navigation system. The manufacture wants 500.00 to replace. Does anyone know how to get one cheaper.

Dumb question but you can't burn it? I wouldn't think it'd be a writeable DVD.

You can copy the discs, but they are dual-layer DVDs, so you need the right equipment/blank discs. Also keep in mind the "burned" discs are more fragile - They can't stand too much heat in the summertime.

My brother has a dual layer DVD burner. I think they've fallen in price lately. Next time I see him I'll have to have him burn me a few extra copies.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_image

Basically, it is a copy of the disc in one large .ISO file that can be written back to a writable disc using "burner" software.

What version of the disc does everyone have? I got a '05 and i think my disk is a version 3? wasn't there a newer version recently released ( 4? ). Anyone have the ISO for that?

Anyone know what the differences are (other than the obvious map updates)?

Any word if GM is going to fix this sh!t design with one slot for both the CD and the NAV DVD? A friend just called me and asked if I could do a mapquest on a location for him. I asked why he could use his NAV and he said the DVD was in his CD case at his house

Klaus, I just looked at mine and it is a ver2.0 map disk. Does anyone here have the ver4 disk and can make a iso. I will lend whatever hand I can to help make the image of the DVD.
