Default Camshaft actuator went bad

Had a check engine light for a few days. So I took the 06 H3 with 3000mi. to the dealer. They found the actuator to be bad and replaced, however part of it a plastic ring was missing and not in the top end of the engine. The mechanic had to remove the oil pan to retreive the missing part. I am a little leary of any damage done to the engine with parts floating around. Has any one else had a camshaft actuator go bad?

Nope, and I haven't read anything on here about hat being an issue. Sorry. Good luck. Hopefully you won't have anymore issues.

that is a new one. I don't think you will have a problem. If it was to cause something else? who knows

I have'nt read anything about it either. The service writer also told me the technician was pissed about getting paid 6 hours to r and r the oil pan. I would have rather not heard that comment.
