I love the idea of the duramax and allison in the h2 and checked out the conversion kinda big money to spend. the only thng i reakky worry about is the extra weight up front my K3500 is very front heavy with that engine/trans combo vs the 6.0 in a 2500 might lose some of the off roading ability? but still would love to have the torque and fuel mileage of it but not for 40k just my opinion.

I was at a GM tech center last Sept. and at that time they said the H2 was also getting an Alpha with the 6.6 and Allison 1000. Probably in 2006.

If thats the case, we should be seeing something soon. The 2006 H2 should be coming out soon. I recieved my 2005 H2 in June of last year.

Last I've heard, GM is still not planning on putting in the Duramax. They are considering a different Diesel engine. They are also looking into the new body style H2 to be able to take the duramax. Due to them blowing all of their money on that friggen Fiat deal, they have pushed back the new body style for the H2 for another year.

I saw one of the H2 with the Duramax for sale on Ebay. The ABS, Airbags and other electronic were disconnected. They probably could not get them to interface with the computer.
