Hi

Could anyone please help me a bit in the right direction?

I have had my Hummer H2 for close to 2 month now (the loaner until I get my own).

But today when driving home, suddenly when taking a corner to car didn't feel right. So I stopped but couldn't see anything (no flat tire or anything like that), then i drove very slowly, and going strait there is no problem. But when turning the diff is giving out strange noises ond the tire is slipping.

So I stopped again and lifted the rear end of the Hummer, but it's not the rear diff that is stuck, so my guess is the center diff might be stuck in the locked position.

I have tried shifting between hi/hi lock/low lick, a couple of times but no change.

How can I test if the center really is stuck (can this be tested), or do I just call the dealer and have them come pick it up, because I'm not driving it anywhere like this.

Or is there a simple manual way to get this unstuck.

Please help

Regards
Rene

Drive backwards to assure you take out the windup in the transfer case. Make sure that only the 4H button is pushed and nothing with a padlock symbol is activated. If you drive on pavement with the transfer case locked you create windup that will not let the case disengage. You might have to back up quite a way and push the 4H button a few times. Good luck

It may sound dumb, b ut make sure you are in 4hi and not 4hi locked. By your description, it sounds like it is in 4hi locked for sure. Back up 50ft and than try it. If that doesn't do it, call the dealer. It sounds like you already cycled the buttons a couple of times.

Hi

The transfer case is in 4H, no locking. I have tried to cycle the buttons lots of times, nothing seems to help.
The strange thing is, that I didn't use the Locked position when discovered this behaviour.
It seems like the transfer case "just" locked by it self. I had been pushing the car at high speed before this at the freeway, but the temp didn't go above 180

Iv'e seen A few broken range shift forks broken in the t-case and the truck stays in 4hl position even though the indicator lights say its in 4h position. I would have it checked out at your local dealer.

Hi

Well the loaner is back at the dealer ship, they picked it up on a flatbed.

So I went in there today, just to tell them what I knew about the damage (Not a lot).

But when I was there my new truck arrived COOL.

They just need it for 2 days, to change the inside to Danish regulations (taking the rear seats out).

But the cool thing is ..... There is a GOBI roof rack on it

Can't wait to get it, hopefully before the weekend.

Pictures comming
