Virgin Post of my New Ride
Okay, first pic is day of purchase, rest are from today and show mods to date...
Matte black wheels, U Steps, Smoked cab/running lights, 07 mirrors, tire carrier (Husky), HID Headlights, 20% tint d/p windows...currently working on black grille, just installed mirrors today (easy install!) will probably go all black with them, as well.
Future mods --- 37s, Volant CAI, Corsa Exhaust, 06 Touchscreen NAV (got it just need to install)

Re: Virgin Post of my New Ride
Congrats on your new rig!
You got me thinking, i think a matte black H2 with some matte black(with chrome lip) 22's or 24's with an aggresivly tread tire would be sweet.
Do you plan on wheeling your truck? I dont think you are far from some pretty good places.

Re: Virgin Post of my New Ride
Nice rig! I am always a fan of de-blinging Hummers. Now lets go to Grayrock or something...

Re: Virgin Post of my New Ride
Thanks for all the comments guys, been wanting my own Hummer since I got a license to drive one of the first military HMMWVs back in 1985 on Redstone Arsenal (AL)...lots of trails, bunkers, and storage Igloos to climb over Definitely going the No Bling route or as my wife would say "plain jane"...but then again she drives a Lexus RX , tried to at least get her in an LR3 but that idea got ...
Gonna have to work my way up to Grayrock, looks like Alan06SUT got it figured out. BTW Alan, how did you de-chrome your mirrors? (mask and paint??)
Thanks again!

Re: Virgin Post of my New Ride
Nice color and i was weary on doing the black out on mine and removing chrome but i have been very very happy with doing so. I actually get way more compliments on the blacked out SUT than my SUV with chrome. Keep up the good work.

Re: Virgin Post of my New Ride
Yeah, I masked them off and used the dupicolor bedliner spray. But, it didnt turn out very nice. It is kind of globby and looks like crap up close. Oh well, its not supposed to be a beauty queen anyway. My first attempt was to scuff them with a scotch brite then paint w/ normal spray paint. It started chipping and flaking, so I went w/ the bed liner stuff. At least it stays on there through the pressure washer, etc.

Re: Virgin Post of my New Ride
Which smoke kit are you using for the cab lights? I'm guessing the ReCON kit?
I have the same kit installed and love it.
I hate the PINK rear lights though. They're more pink than red which is very un-hummerish. Was curious if you have the same problem or found a better red bulb than what came with the kit?

Re: Virgin Post of my New Ride
Sanfoja, Sweet rig. I love the black wheels. You can use duplicolor bed liner on those mirrors. Just scuff them up, wash them off, tape and spray evenly. I did my whole grill and after two months of winter driving not one chip!!! Even if it doesnt work out for you you can always have them re-done. As you cn see by my 3, I definately love the de-blinged look. You are well on your way.

You got it, Recon it is...actually broke the red bulbs that came with the kit, they must have a problem with them, they were VERY tight and disentegrated when I tried to push them in. Guess actually lucky for me since I then went to the local Autozone and bought replacements, so they are pretty red. Yep, no pink on this rig
Thanks!

Very cool H3!! Good info on the duplicolor. I'm waiting for a warm spell, 27 deg right now...so I can paint my spare grill. I got a plastic primer and a couple of different textured blacks I am going to try but may just have to try the duplicolor bedliner too I love that look! Thanks for the tip!! BTW, a blacked out white was my first choice, but figured I could de-bling a Burgundy too
