I'm looking at going to JC Whitney Diamond Blue headlight bulbs (9007's with 100/80 watts). Anyone with experience putting in the higher watt bulbs? Will the existing wiring/fixture handle OK? I have seen them in one other vehicle with no problems.

Phil?

Ric,

The paranoid side of me says to run relays. The part that worries me is not the wiring, but the switch.

Hey Steve:

Thanks....but don't the headlights already have their own relays?

I don't remember. I believe that the headlights are wired directly to the switch.

Just checked the fuse box under the hood...both the high and low beam head lamps have their own relays.

And each of the high and low beams have their own fuses for each side...4 fuses.

Wow. I guess the only thing then is to worry about the gauge of the wires....which should be fine.
