Default Front Hub Replacement

Well my H2 only has 47K on it and the darn front hubs are bad. I was wondering if anyone has any advice on changing these...

Any special tools, sealants, precautions....

Does anybody have photos of it or manual they can post.

Thanx

Both of your wheel bearings are gone at the same time? Thats not normal and especially at 47k.
Not to hard to change and not any special tools. Take tire off , take brake caliper off , take brake rotor off , remove large axle nut , unplug abs wire , remove four bolts holding the wheel bearing assymbley on. Remove wheel bearing assy and install new and put back together.

OK sounds pretty easy, and I watched a video on youtube by Timken.

Does anyone know the size of the axle nut?

I also read the axle nut is torqued to 176 ftlbs --- is that correct?

Thanx

Not sure of the axle nut size I think 36mm , but we always get them off with a standard fraction socket. Im pretty sure its 177ftpds.

Dug - No not both hubs are bad just the passenger side, but I decided to replace both sides at one time.

I will be putting bigger tires on soon and just dont want the head ache later.

Thanx for the info too!

Finally got one of my hubs, I will be putting it on tonight. I tore it all down over the weekend so it should go pretty fast.

*** Something I noticed though, neither side has the hub dust cap. Does the H2 not have one???
