Default service airbags

I have a service airbags message on the DIC on the dash and a red lit pictograph of an airbag and driver on the dash . I scaned it and it says driver airbag loop /pass airbag loop and ECU failure. best I can tell I have a short or a bad ground or a bad impact sensor . anyone ever have this problem or know what is the most common cause of this ? I bought the truck with this problem and a'm just getting around to fixing it ,this vehicle has never been in an accident .I bought it from the original owner who I know personaly . he was at the point that he wanted out and I stole it . the thing is perfect wit the exception of a 2.5 inch scratch on the rear pass door . and it had 22 inch chrome rims with brand new tires that had 456 miles on them and a receipt from discount tire that said they were 2 weeks old .the truck has never been off road B4 I bought it . I had to replace 3 stepper motors on the gage cluster ,and replace a faulty oil presure switch . he has a ton of recieps for maintinance. pluss the fact his wife made him buy a big house that is 50 miles from his job and his mortgage is $4300.00 a month .
