Default Need quick Help, How to install PITA roof bars

I just purchased a 2004 H2 loaded up with everything except roof bars , I just purchased new ones but I can not figure out how to remove those plastic pieces at rear of truck to get access to install the bars, it is pissing me off I even took the rear lights off looking for a way to get the whole rear strip off, I see a torx screw thru the small hole in strip but it holds the track not the bracket looking piece, I pryed hard on it with that cheesewiz clip depressed but it seemed like any more force I would break it in half. Any ideas or pic's would be awesome or direct me to installation link.

In the rear by the lights you removed on each side is a plastic piece about 10inches long, Its connected to the vehicle in 3 spots. Mine was kinda a pain to pop off. Once off remove the rubber stopper and you can then slide on the rails. I removed mine to paint black. Goodluck!

They really are a PITA to get off. There is a tab on the back end that is obvious, and there is another tab on the outboard side that is not. Get a light and look into the crack along the outboard edge of the strip, and you will see where the tab is. You need something pretty thin to stick in there and pry it over. I actually used the shank end of a sawzall blade. It is a pretty thin crack.

Once you have something in there and get the tab pried over just keep pulling up and inboard and it will pop out.

Good luck!
