Default Hummer wave

I'm sure this has been posted already but am I the only one that waves or acknowledges other H2's. I can't tell you how many times I've waved and watched the other driver go by completely oblivious that another H2 was even on the road. I'm not sure what the problem is but I will continue to wave as long as I own it.

I ALWAYS do the Hummer wave to another Hummer. Guys in the H2 are good about returning the wave, but women and H3 owners rarely wave back.

It's the girls that screw it up! Ladies, we need you on board- especially when you see a real man driving down the road that takes the time to acknowledge you.

There are always the rich snooty guys that buy the Hummers just because they have money to waste and they just use it as part of their other 20 cars. They don't seem to appreciate the league they are part of either...

8 year old repost!

http://www.elcovaforums.com/forums/s...ead.php?t=5906

I asked that same question when I piced up my Rig. Eight years later driving in NJ, NY, NV and passing through lots of other States I can say that there were very few HUMMER waves. Prior to getting the H2 I had a 4 Corvettes and a Porsche 911 and always got waves from other owners. I'm not sure what happened with HUMMERS but like DRTYFN said:

yeah I tried to wave to a fellow h2 driver on the high way, I got next to him and tried to wave, he just ignored me and sped off.

But, atleast I tried! Won't stop me from waving to another hummer owner.

I did see an h3 driver at a red light, he had his window down and his music blasting, i yelled to him that i liked his h3, and he thanked me

I wave to H2's regularly, with mixed results, probably 50/50. I don't wave at H3's, but if they wave I will wave back. To me, they are not in the same league as H2's, they can wave to their H3 buddies all they want.

The wave is not near as prominent as I find in the Corvette community.

I believe the lack of a wave has more to do with other Hummer drivers not being able to see the wave than it has to do with their lack of camaraderie. It is pretty dark inside a Hummer cab. A well intentioned wave is hard to see.

A few days after I bought my truck I got a wave from a guy in another H2 and I thought "Okay...this is going to be like the Harley-thing...cool." Years and several attempts later I've only got about three or four other waves.

I've found that most dudes driving stock H2s seem to be oblivious. Granted the windows are usually tinted, so it's hard to see for sure, but there seems to be zero effort. Most of my waves, nods, compliments have come from dudes driving modded H2s. Too bad there's not more of them around my area...

And I don't think most women drivers even 'get' the concept. I say most, and not all. I had one pull up next to me just the other day (in a truck that looked like mine, but stock) and yell in my window "Nice fukin' truck, man!" She got the concept...and a wave.

H3 owners...? I don't know what's up with those dudes. I think most of them in my area suffer from the I5 Complex, Hood Handle Envy, or are Marker Light Wannabes. I've never gotten a wave, nod, smile, or anything from those guys.

And there's only about three H1s that I know of around my way...I get the thumbs up from the dude in the white M1165 with the lift and the 42s every time. I haven't seen the other two on the road yet...so we'll see.

But I agree with gasman:

I always try the wave on H1 and H2 owners and occasionally at modded H3's. seems only those who are modded even notice they're on the road with another hummer. I feel like wayyyy more people returned the wave years ago as compared to now.

I also get occasional waves from other modded offroad rigs(Jeeps fj's ect.) which is nice to see every once in a while

Personally, I think its starnge! Flashing lights and waving at strangers ....and you wonder why they just keep on driving. Not everyone loves this unit as much as some of us here. Its just another vehicle, so you appear strange when you are waving outta control and flashing hi-beads at them.

Exclamation Re: Hummer wave

This is funny to be reading...the week I bought my H2 I was driving thru a stripmall parking lot when I swore another H2 driver waved at me. I wasnt sure if I saw what I thought I saw, but being from TX, I know we are very friendly and I figured one of two things, either: he waved because I was rockin an H2, or because he was just being friendly because I was a woman?! Either way I found it refreshing to see one stranger being friendly toward another. I must say, I've always wanted Hummer and I absolutely love mine. Proud to finally be part of the fam. Waves to come........

I don't know what it is with you H2/H3 people. The H1 crowd waves to one and other.

Maybe it's just me, but I do not perceive someone flashing their headlights at me as a friendly gesture.
