Default chrome mirror caps are removed, paint or linex??

Ok, I finally figured out how to get my chrome mirror caps off.....it was actually pretty easy, and I didnt have to take out the actual mirrors.

The chrome caps have 7 tabs, but they arent really tight tabs at all. I started by trying to release them with a long screwdriver. I got to a point where I just gently pryed the cap off with a flat screwdriver from the outside, didnt even worry about the tabs. Just gently pull on the cap, and it will come off. No broken tabs on either one. There is 2 spots that have double sided 3m tape on the inside, so there will be some resistance.

Anyhow, now that their off, should I have them painted black to match the truck, or go with the black linex extra that I sprayed the front end with?

Any thoughts?

The good thing about the linex, nothing sticks to it at all. Bugs, etc, etc just sprays off of the front end.
