Does anyone know where to grab power so the dvds are on even if the key is out of the iginition? The reason is when I get my kids in the back and start the dvd all is good, but if i have to turn the hummer off while the wife runs into the store and restart it the dvds turn off and I have to turn them back on. Kind of a pain in the arse when you have to reach around to turn them back on. Any help is appreciated.

From the back of any of the accessory plugs will give you B+ voltage. But they will stay on all the time, unless manually turned off.

Since they will always have power the power button will always be lit whether you turn them off or not. I noticed this evening the power light is on whenever there it power to them. Maybe you could wire in a relay so that they retain power for a certain amount of time them go off.

You will definitely have a dead battery sooner or later.

Doesnt it work on accessory position if not hook it up to a RAP circut (with a relay)it will work on accessory and if you remove key till you open door.I figure they should have hooked it up that way?
You can get a RAP wire off the rear wiper switch yellow wire to coil side of relay.Than use a B+ wire(accessory socket or cluster under wheel to right, theres a ground there too)

It's going to shut off once you go to restart the vehicle though wouldn't it?

If you remove key do they work untill you open door if so they are hooked up to RAP.

If I recall correctly, they are not hooked up to the RAP. Also, I believe that if the power is cut even momentarily, they shut down. It will start back up where it was but you are in the same situation as before of having to reach back and turn them on again. I will try to go out and check later today.

Not sure but I would think they all follow a particular install procedure. Just guessing though.

Just checked mine and they are not connected to the rap. Turn the key back and they are off.

That probobly because the battery wont hold up to both the dvd,s on.They told me not to run my front dvd for more than 10 minutes without the truck running after they replaced battery under warranty.I also moved my 12 volt fridge from rap to ignition so not to over use the battery.
Changing it to rap would be easy just dont leave them on to long.

You can wire into the inadvertent power supply, controlled by the BCM, using a relay. Always hot after car started, and will stay hot for about twenty minutes after the car has been turned off.
I spent over three-hours in an airport parking lot, spinning CDs, talking on Onstar, getting in and out, setting the alarm (flashing the lights) and never started the vehicle, and the battery started the H3 immediately.

That's pretty damn sad if you can't run the DVD off the battery for more than 10 minutes. Sure, doing that every day would create undue wear on the battery over time but to never run it for more than 10 minutes

My wife was running it 45 minutes to an hour originally with the fridge on 5 days a week after a couple of months I had battery trouble.(very low temps at the time)I figure 20-30 minutes max if its daily.(no fridge)
Once I did have the dvd and the fridge running for between 1 hr and 1 1/2 hours it started fine.
