The best Nav screen I have seen is in the first Hummer I ever saw on the dealer lot. Located right behind the 2 big boobs in the center, it pops out slowly & vertically, very impressive. Sorry, no picture.

I'VE ACTUALLY INSTALL A 7"SCREEN IN THE FLIP DOWN POCKET OF THE OVERHEAD CONSOLE. WE USE THEM FOR NAV AND BACK UP CAMERA. THEN YOU CAN USE WHATEVER NAV UNIT YOU WISH(KENWOOD, ALPINE, ETC.) HERE ARE SOME PICS. I SALE ALL OF THE ABOVE.

Is the radio opening in the H2 double DIN? Or the standard GM DIN & 1/2?

Grey,

HEre is a link to some of the things we did for Panasonic on their H2. Look where we put the screen on the windshield, it can actually switch between, rear view camera, navigation, and DVD monitor.

Call me if you have any questions,

Jonathan. Can you make somthing like this at a reasonable price? It holds the kenwood lz-800w touchscreen monitor. It looks similiar to the one you made. It keeps the monitor in reach and I keep the mirror. Just wondering.

Ya no prob, we can make it very reasonable, and the turn around is 2 days from start to finish.

I found the picture at abt electronics in chicago. I was in their shop discussing options for the H2. They gave me this photo. I had them install an alarm/remote starter, but not the nav system.

Jonathan, How hard would it be to install the type of motorized monitor that MAC mentioned above. And what would the price for something like that be.

CGllio,

There are some challenges to it, but I wouldn't recomend it for the main reason that there is a decent amount of heat that is generated behind the vents from the firewall and the heater.

But it can be done, you would need to use actuators, and a limiting switches.

I finally got the Alpine screen that Mega Boris posted earlier. I was planning on mounting it in the overhead compartment (it fits perfectly), but it appears that the cable to the control unit is not long enough to mount the control unit under the dash.

The problem is that the control unit has the multiple input jacks on it. I guess these could be wired with extensions. I wonder if there is enough space in the overhead console to mount it there?

Thanks for that input. I was going to have mine mounted there, but it looks like I have to find another location. I had thought about the driver side dash top. The inspection stickers are there anyway so there would be no loss of vison that isn't already missing.
