Default Roof Noise

I have an H2 2005 SUV. I get a rumbling on the roof if I go faster than 75 MPH. Does anyone know of anything I can check out to see if something is loose. I had an 03 suv and I did not have this problem.

Thanks,

If you have the Hummer cross bars, make sure they are tight. I had to move mine so that they do not line up with the arrows and tightened them down. Problem was solved.

I think there is a fairing at the back edge that can vibrate if not fastened securely. Also, do you have a sunroof? I don't, but could it be coming from that?

I have the noise also, and from what I've been reading...everyone says it's the windshield. I didn't believe it because I thought I was 100% certain. After really listening again this weekend...it seems it probably is the windshield.

Check the weatherstrip across the top of the windshield. Mine was loose and vibrating horribly. I ripped it off with no apparent ill-effects (not that I suggest this behavior).

Smile Re: Roof Noise

My middle running light was installed backward even though it looked right from a distance. One day I took it thru a car wash and it blew off just hanging by the wire. I Installed it correctly a the sound went away.

Default Re: Roof Noise

Is it the sunroof itself (when its closed that is)?

I have an 03 and when I'm at speed, I can see the sunroof physically moving from the wind (when closed) and it makes a hell of a racket.

weird I thought it was the sunroof right away, just take it to your dealer they are good with fixing things like that. The little things can be the most annoying.

I have the same noise on my 06. It sounds like to me the air dam in front of the sunroof. However I guess it could also be the imitation air intakes as well. I doubt the dealer would be able to diagnose the problem, seem too minute for them to concentrate on....Jamie

he said he doesnt have a sunroof. thats whats weird. On our 07 h2 the air damn was pulling off and it was slapping around on the roof. But if he doesnt have the sunroof he doesnt have the air damn making this a lot more complicated.

You mean daddy's H2? Good to see you back again Sparky as I had missed your valuable insights and dreams of Hummer ownership.

For the record, and despite the fact you allegedly went to kollege, it's actually an 'air dam' and not 'air damN' (Ricco and jmsspratlin even did you the courtesy of spelling it correctly but apparently you chose to ignore that). Entertaining as always my good man!

And before you go getting your Underoos all up in a bunch little buckeroo, I actually hope you stick around...you're definitely amusing in an ants and magnifying glass kind of way.

Now back to the regularly scheduled program...

little man syndrome much? Go on the internet and try and pick fights, hope it makes you feel tough. Maybe it will replace the void you have between your legs. Yes i just graduated college, and yes its my fathers vehicle. Ive never tried to hide the fact that the hummers he has owned are his, although he is cool enough to let me drive them on a pretty regular basis. This board is to be helpful, you are consistantly not helpful at all. And by the way, yeah my post had a spelling mistake in it, I write this stuff up quick.... and Im getting back to you with out having to edit my post. Seriously Ive had enough of you man Its one thing to pick on me and mess up a post of mine. This guy is just trying to get help, all I have done is stayed on topic and tried to give this guy a hand. What have you done? acted your shoe size, Congrats!

Why must we argue? Just drop it and act like men or women (whatever the case) Who cares if its your dads Hummer. If you have insight, spit it out, some of us (including myself) know little about this machine and am only on here to find parts and learn about it. I know people joke, so take it as that and press on. It just feeds fuel to the fire when you think you're standing up to the person, when in actuality, just sticking to the matter at hand shows more manlyhood than backlashing. I know someone may blaze me for saying all this, but honestly....WGAF (who gives a .....). Jamie
