Hey,
Been a while since I posted.
The results of my testing of the Gobi roof rack I purchased.
1.First wind noise,
yes you will have some comming from the deflector at around 90 mph or 70 with a 20 mph head wind.
Note: (I live on the Gulf coast) No EXTRA noise that I could notice at normal speeds with the rack.
2.Load capacity sticker showes 300 lbs, correct that and more.
A.
20 1"x6"x12' boards and
2 4"x4" 8' long and 210 lb Me not
shure how much weight that is.
B. 120 Qt. icechest full to top with Ice and beverages for trip with about 150 lbs of rocks kids wanted to bring back from trip to Arkansas. Yes the rocks were weighed. Note: 120 Qt Ice chest makes one hell of a wind resistance reducing the MPG to 14.
Overall rack is worth the $ just protect it when you haul wood or rocks.
I used the pipe insulation 1/2" from local hardware store with a couple ty wraps.
BY THE WAY THIS H3 IS ON THE SUPERLIFT COURSE IN HOTSPRINGS ARKANSAS. IT WELL EXCEDED MY EXPECTATIONS FOR CLIMBING WITH STOCK 32'S
