Default Timgco's SUT Build.....again

just getting underway with this one.

Linex grille and black miror caps will be done this week yet. Than the wheels will have get replaced in the next month or so.
So this one will be blacked out also.

So far, I have Procomp Exptreme MT's 35"...took these off my JK. So using these for now...will go to 37's later.
Gobi stealth roof rack/ Gobi stealth bed rack
PIAA lights are in place but not wired/ for pics only.
I will be putting Rigid Ind LED lights on. 50" up top, 20" amber lower grille, 2 6" rear.
painted the frame up, skidplate
Rancho Steering stabilizer
Moog idler/ pitman
Carbon fiber dash
tinted windows up front and rear window to match factory tint on 2nd row windows.

Since it's a high of 3 degrees today, this is as good as the pics are getting for now.

Can't wait to see the Rigid light bars! Black out that chrome and powdercoat the wheels. Damn... I should have taken that Gobi Stealth rack way back when.

What do you think of the pro comp xtreme mt on your truck? How are they in snow/ rain? Do they handle well? You think you'll put 37's of same tire? I also love rigids stuff and can't wait to pop the 50 incher and put up top. I am in between modifing grille insert and putting 20 incher down there. Ill be super interested when you do it. I've run out of money for my truck for now after putting 37 stts, bilsteins, cognito leveling, rareparts tie rod, cognito pitman brace and Super Steer brackets, moog pitman idler arm, fabtech steering stabilizer, true hid headlights, ridgid duallys leds, hawk LTS pads with Centric premium rotors, crown steel brake lines, and swapped out my gmpp cai for a volant all in past couple months.
Soon as I recover, its RIGID LEDs all the way for sure.

Richard,

Did you notice a slight decrease in noise level when you switched to the Volant? I'm curious if it's quieter than others as it has a closed-in box.

Sorry to change the thread topic.

Timgco,

Truck looks great!!

Ive got the bed rack on my SUT and i think it looks great and is very functional. I really like how your stealth roof rack looks. I would consider that for myself but then I would'nt get into the garage.

I agree, truck looks great!

I also apologize about changing topic, but charles06 I have to say the Volant is quieter than GMPP CAI, but not by much. They both are louder than stock (which i like) I ended up doing a hybrid CAI because the tubing of the GMPP had a larger diameter, so i kept the tubing and used the Volant air box and their PRO 5 filter and not their powercore filter which is the exact same as our stock air filter. If you put the powercore with the complete Volant CAI system, i would say it would be the quietest CAI on market. I have had K&N, GMPP, and now the Volant and i have to say i actually like my hybrid version the best. I actually keep the lid off the air box. It?s louder but i feel it covers the filter enough and lets it breath way better. If i know i am going to drive in dusty/dirty environment, i will put my lid back on. Here are some pics!

Thanks so much for the info. I posted a question about this a while back, but I didn't get any responses.

by chance does anyone know the part# for the box for that Volant CIA?
dont need all the tubing or anything, just the box part.

im thinking of doing a hybrid type thing myself to help cut down on the noise from my K&N CAI.

i dont know if the parts will work together, but if the parts are cheap enough, worth the time and somethign fun to do.

or if anyone has one for sale....

Box and Filter only for 03-07 is

15860
http://volant.com/edetail.asp?ID=90

http://volant.com/product_intake.asp?TypeField=Hummer

Prob could find cheaper shopping around.

I ended up getting mine from Autoanything and added 15% off coupon with free shipping.

I really really like this set up. I am very happy using their box, and if you want more air flow, just pop off top cover or keep it on for a quieter CAI

I may have one for ya

yeah, I pick the grille up on monday. Linex'd black. Going to put the black mirror caps in this weekend too. I'm waiting to hear back on a set of wheels. If those beadlocks don;t work out, I'm just going to do the procomps or the new XD "Crank" in black. The Hutchinson Beadlocks are nice!!! This set of 5 is black also.

If you look up on the roof rack towards the back you will see two fork mounts for my mtn bikes. The bed rack has two wheel mounts. When mounted up, it will look my old SUT did.

Love Gobi. Hey Timgco, I really like your stealth roof rack, a couple questions.. Do you think that the rack sits higher than the stock cross bars?
I have the front stock LE light bar that plugs into a wire harness, can the new lights mouned on the stealth rack plug in the same way?

I'll have to measure but But i think i only have a few inches on top of my stock racks for garage clearance.
Cant wait to see your final pics with wheels and other items.
