quick question!
hey, well i basically talked my dad into agreeing to get me a hummer, but he was talking to his friend today that had one and said he loved it but the only issues he had was that replacement parts were way to expensive without a warranty? he said that a replacement rear door latch (or something like that) was like $1500! so my question is are the replacement parts for the h2 really that expensive if something goes wrong and you don't have a warranty? thanks

Re: quick question!
No more expensive than any other truck. Remember, its a heavy duty truck with some heavy duty parts.

Re: quick question!
I hate to break it to you man but the H2 is not inexpensive to maintain.
Some parts are from the GM parts bin. The the Hummer specific parts are going to run you some $$$
An H2 is actually very expensive to maintain. Between tires (stockers last a long time but you will be lucky to get 35K out of a set of offroad tires) chassis parts, and gas you need to be ready to pay up.

Re: quick question!
I was talking to a friend today who paid almost $1500 to have the sliding door fixed on their Toyota Minivan. So H2's are no more expensive than any other vehicle if you don't offroad you won't spend a penny on the suspension or even brakes til about 100K miles. If you don't want to get burned it is best to have a warranty though. I have been putting off getting my speedometer fixed because I am sure it will be 6 or 7 Hundred bucks at the dealer. You might not be able to get one after all who would warranty an extinct brand?

Um.... I thought someone here just bought a rear hatch handle for like $200.
If you take care of anything it will take care of you too.
Just like others said don't trash it and with prices down you are going to
have a hard time finding another SUV with all the bells and whistles at any price.
And second party warranties should be able to sell you one since GM has to
still stock parts for 5 years?.

Sigh! Really? Not to bash or anything, but what ever happened to making your own way and working for and earning what you have? I got a job working full time in the summer at a fishing boat plant welding aluminum boats when I was 16. I saved money a long time to buy my first truck myself, and I was proud of it. I took pride that it was mine and I had earned it. My daddy didn't give me anything. He taught me how to work and earn it myself.
Thank you dad!

Re: quick question!
If my dad bought me an H2 ... I'd pay for parts.
