This picture was taken during the Scruteneering day for 2004 UAE Desert Challenge.
Forget the Bajas, there are 2 major international offroad challenges around the world : the Paris-Dakar and the UAE Desert Challenge. The UAE Desert challenge is smaller as an event and always serve as a prelude to the Paris-Dakar. Drivers always TEST their vehicles in the UAE Desert Challenge before going to the the Ultimate Challenge : the Paris Dakar.
If they cannot make it in the Desert Challenge, they wont go to the Paris-Dakar. Sadly the H1 broke down on the 1st or 2nd day of the 5-days event (Desert Challenge) they broke the back diff or transmission (dont remember exactly).
I have more pics including interior if you want.

This picture was linked from a hungarian site that has a contest.

And I think it is terribel to see such a bad picture from a H1.
5 lugs wheels? More than funny.

Wouldn't the orginal Dakar truck be a truck that did not have those wheels or dual fuel tanks, etc. or something along the lines of a 1991 vintage?
