Hey Hmrlvr,
Very nice!. How loud is inside the cab. I have a Flowmaster install in my '05 mustang. It has a nice deep sound. But inside the cab the "db" are pretty high...

I've only gone 10 miles but it seems louder inside than I expected. I'll drive around all day today (Sat) and check it out. I don"t think I have any way to post a sound clip. I'm also putting a set of PIAAS on the front today.

The noise is either getting quieter or I'm getting used to it. It sound awesome. I may try some insulation in the rear door though, as another member suggested, just to see if I hear it less inside.

I packed the gate with insulation and still couldn't hear on my cell phone when climbing a hill. I took it back today and had two 12" resonators installed (one on each pipe, behind the muffler). It really has quieted the interior sound to a point where you don't notice it. It still sound good outside though. I've driven it about 300 miles since it was originally installed last week and there is definetly an increase in performance and gas mileage. We'll see if that changes with the new set-up. Still would recommend it for the price but include the resonators if you want to hear yourself think inside or spend alot of time on the phone.

What kind of resonators did you install?

I'm not sure of the brand, just the one's the installer recommended. 12" long stainless.

looks great! would you describe the sound as closer to a v8 rumble like a trans am, or more of a tinny sound like a honda accord with a pipe? I have never modified exhaust on anything but v8's and I am really curious to know how it sounds.

It definatly does not sound like a Honda. On the other hand, a V8 would be a stretch. Someone else did this b4 me and had a sound clip. Just sounds nice. Check Flowmaster website maybe.

Re: New Flowmaster With "TIPS"
Ok, went back to stock today, the noise just began to annoy me. Only one chrome "tip" now but nice and quiet. Does this mean I'm getting old???

Re: New Flowmaster With "TIPS"
Too loud?? Im running a 40 series with two turn downs and I LOVE it!! Im thinking about running an electronic turn out before the muffler to make it even louder. Straight pipes!! Oh well Im young and stupid. I'll enjoy it while it lasts.

Re: New Flowmaster With "TIPS"
Hmrlvr,
Yea I can understand that you don't want excessive noise, I'm old enough to appreciate that too. I selected a Corsa system because it was known to be the quietest dual tip setup. The only time it gets a little loud is climbing long grades at certain rpms. But with a price around $900 it's not cheap.

Re: New Flowmaster
I had a FlowMaster installed on my H3 as well. I took it to a muffler local shop and they did it for $120.00. The FlowMaster replaced the stock monster muffler and was attached in the same location. The single short tailpipe was cut at an angle to fit under the bumper. Looks good. The resister was left in place. I was adviced the sound would be somewhat louder if it was removed. I might get brave and replace it with a streight pipe and see what I get sometime. I'll save the resiste,r just in case it gets to be to much for me, or the wife complains. So far I'll just keep the radio on. LOL
I did notice better pick up and a little increase in sound. More like mad hornets, but not to loud to bother anyone. So far my wife has not complained.

OMG no. It just means you're whipped.
The all time best exhaust ownage was H2Finally when he joined. His first question was how to make the truck quieter so his wife would ride in it. He took crap from us for weeks!!!!
Too bad that thread didn't make the switch over.
