Default Installing new thermostat-question

to install a thermostat, how much of the antifreeze should be drained? completely? Can it be installed without draining?

Thanks

Default Re: Installing new thermostat-question

I did it by removing passenger side fender well plastic and pulling hose. I tried to catch the fluid so I could re-use it, but lots of black stuff came out and I only had a few thousand miles. Decided it wasn't worth it and put in new AF.
