Well I have been reading all the posts you guys have started about Hummer haters and thought they went from pretty funny to downright crazy. Living here in New Jersey I guess I figured I was lucky since I have never experienced anything from a hater since buying my truck in 2005. But today I guess I had my first, very minor experience.
I was pulling out of my housing development when I observed a red Jeep Wrangler coming at me. What drew my attention to the Jeep was the fact that it had 4 cheap a$$ Pep Boy brand Rally lights over the windshield. Now really I am not one to put anyone down in reality, however I am known to break ball$, but I saw these lights and it made me look a little harder at the truck. Well then I noticed that it had passenger car tires on it. White walls to top it off. Again not looking down on anyone I figured they just didn't have the money to do it right and thats all they could afford, no big deal.
Well as the Jeep passed me, I observed the driver raise his hand to windshield and give me the thumbs down. At first I was a little pissed, since I knew I did not know the guy, but then I had to laugh, thinking of all the stories I read here. I thought about turning around and confronting him to see what his problem was, but then I had to feel sorry for him. Here he is in a vehicle that I am sure he is just jealous of mine. He probably can't even afford to fill up my tank once, probably why he has those Rally X lights. And I know every time he washes his truck he has to wash the whitewalls. LOL So I didn't confront him. It must be a horrible burden to go through life driving that thing, however he wants to deflect to me.
After all of this there is one thing I wish I could say to him. I don't care what anyone drives. If thats what they like then so be it. That's there taste. I don't necessarily agree with there tastes but I also don't put them down for it either. I don't care if you drive a Subaru, Tahoe, Ford F150, Escalade, Toyota, etc... Doesn't matter to me. If you are stuck in some sand you are a fellow four wheeler and I will do everything I can to help you get out. But there is one little person I will now pray every night I find stuck. A guy who drives a red Jeep Wrangler with cheap lights and white wall tires that came from a Hyundai Sonata. And if my dream ever comes reality, I will stop say hello, and tell him I wish I could help him out but I wouldn't want to damage his pride by getting pulled out by a Hummer. Then drive off into the sunset and stop somewhere for a Margarita. Ahhhhhhhh. Boy that would be nice.
