Congrats on the new truck, HMR22 and welcome to the forum.
Sorry I don't know a thing about towing. Lots do so hang on, you'll get answers. You might also use the find button -- there have been many discussions on the subject.

It's (obviously) a 2 " receiver, and in my experience, 8" of drop is damn near perfect for a stock height H2. I highly recommend AlumiStinger... http://www.ultrahitch.com/perfect_drop_bar.html

TXSUT,
what kind of trailer would that 8" drop be for. I plan on towing a two bike motorcycle trailer.

hmr22, the ball heighth is all dependent on the trailer tongue height. You might need a dropped hitch for some trailers or a level hitch for others. You can buy a adjustable one for all heights you would prolly encounter. Or I have a bunch of different configurations for myself , like i said it just depends on the trailer. When your all done the objective is to have the tow vehicle and trailer as level as possible. Doug

No doubt that Dug's advice is good stuff; having that adjustability is great.
The trailer I am using is a standard 5x8 utility trailer on 15 inch wheels (to haul my dirtbikes). The trailer tongue extends directly out from under the trailer with no drop or rise, and it sat just about perfectly level behind my truck (before I installed the 37" tires).
