Default Thoughts on "Cloverfield"

okay, i absolutly loved the movie. Incredible im defintly gonna see it again. I'd say about hal;f the peopl dont like it but the other half absolutly love it. Its a definite must see. They style of filming was incredible becuase it wasnt like a movie the whole entire thing was through the eys of like a couple people who encountered it and were video taping it on a home video camera the whole time. Extremly interesting. Only thing i dont like is you never exactly find out what "the thing is" but you get a pretty good idea if i say anymore im gonna give it away but defintly 100% go see it and dont miss out on this one in my opinion

Going to see it this weekend. There's nothing I love more than disaster flicks like this, Day After Tomorrow, The Day After, ID4, Armageddon, Deep Impact. I know it's a "monster" of some sort but getting to see a major city destroyed always thrills me in some kind of apocalyptic way.

ah but this one will through you for a loop unlike the other the ones which all have one thing in common, this one does not share that in fact its quite opposite, once you see it you'll know what im talking about. Also like i said what was interesting is it relaly puts you in the place becuase its not filmed from crazy angles and everything its as if someone was there videotaping becuase the whole time the best friend is actually videotaping everything so its like a home movie

It's not annoying home movie filming like Blair Witch, is it? I mean I liked BW okay and all but I hate movies that have really bad camera angles like Friday Night Lights and even though I love The Shield, the artistic, gritty and real type filming can get annoying.

I just came back from the movie theatre.

Cloverfield =

Definitely 1 for the DVD library. Excellent movie but unusually short. 1 hour 10 minutes.

OMG......YES!

I had chub for the main character's girlfriend and his brother's girlfriend.

Very cool movie. The "Blair Witch" style filming smoothened out 15 minutes into it as it got intense. Very cool movie!

BTW. It was a very cool movie!!!

I get motion sickness too but I can last 15 mins. I won't get sick but I'll get nausea. I can ride thrill rides just the spinning ones make me ill. Definitely going on Sunday.

I'll probably see it, but I'm not a big fan of the ol' shakey camera or that film noir crap.

Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, I'm looking at you. That one was like a film school spank fest of iconic camera angles, with no story to string them together.

It's almost as if the more flawed something is, the more it's revered in some circles. Like expensive paper for example with a big watermark in the middle, WTF?!

Ended up seeing it tonight and for the story and f/x I loved it. For the camera angles and shakiness, I hated it. I know it supposedly smoothes out after 15 mins but not enough, IMO. Otherwise I thought it was great. (on a side note, got to see the trailer for The Ruins which was an awesome book albeit depressing and of course, the Star Trek teaser)

Seeing it tomorrow. We partied with a few friends this evening and were a bit "under the weather" afterward to make it to the movie. Thanks for the info, makes me want to see it even worse....

Talking Re: Thoughts on "Cloverfield"

All it did was make me dizzy and empty my wallet. I didn't think it had any entertainment value at all, save a few parts here and there. Overall, wish I had that money back so I could see something better, like Veggie Tales.

actually DenisAJC, the time lapsed in te movie is only 6 hours, the actual filming from the camera is only 1 hour and 10 minutes showing that a lot of time was just lost or spen such as who knows how much time they spent down in that subway and what not, and I know for a fact there are batteries out there that last longer than that. And you said 400Gig we know that the camera is a TAPE camera not a HARDRIVE CAM becuase Rob says to Hud "did you change my tape that was in there?" But no lets just say whatever you missed in the movie you truly missed and if you knew then youd be a much happier person at the movie just ask Karsun.

Listen you punk. Don't think you know everything and I was only kidding.

It took me 1 viewing to spot these "Spoilers" your retarded little mind spotted in 2 viewings.

I'm so tempted to ban you just because I can't reach through my screen and smack you silly.
